Disconnecting HubSpot
How to remove the HubSpot integration from Steve, what stops working, what is deleted, and how to revoke access on the HubSpot side
Overview
Removing the HubSpot integration takes two steps: delete it in Steve, and — if you want to be thorough — uninstall the app in HubSpot. This page covers both, plus exactly what disappears.
Who it's for: 📣 PMM / admin — only an organization manager can delete an integration.
Re-integrating is not the same as deleting. If you only need to refresh permissions or switch portals, use Re-integrate on the settings card instead. It keeps all your data. See Connecting HubSpot.
Step 1: Delete the integration in Steve
- Log in to Steve at app.hiresteve.ai.
- Go to Settings → HubSpot, at app.hiresteve.ai/settings?tab=hubspot.
- Scroll past the action buttons to the divider and click the red Delete Account button.
- A confirmation dialog opens: Delete HubSpot Integration Data — This action will permanently delete all data associated with your HubSpot integration.
- Read the warning. This action cannot be undone:
- Your integration configuration and access tokens will be removed
- All synced HubSpot data will be permanently deleted
- This action cannot be reversed or recovered
- Type
delete hubspotin the confirmation box, exactly as shown. - Click Delete Integration Data.
- A toast confirms "Successfully deleted all HubSpot integration data".

Caption: Deleting requires typing the confirmation phrase — there is no undo.
What is deleted
| Deleted | Notes |
|---|---|
| HubSpot access token and refresh token | Removed immediately; Steve can no longer call HubSpot for your organization. |
| The granted scopes, token type, and expiry | Removed with the configuration. |
| Your field mappings and selected properties | You'll reconfigure from scratch if you reconnect. |
| Synced deals and companies | Removed from Steve. |
What is not deleted
| Not deleted | Why |
|---|---|
| Anything Steve wrote into HubSpot | Competitor values, battle card links, connected calls, timeline notes, and Call engagements stay on your HubSpot records. HubSpot is your system of record; Steve doesn't reach back in to strip its own writes. |
| The custom deal properties Steve created | steve_connected_calls, steve_connected_battle_cards, and any properties you created from the setup page remain in HubSpot. Delete them yourself in Settings → Properties → Deal Properties if you want them gone. |
| Battle card share links | Public competitor links already handed out keep working. Revoke them from the battle card sharing controls. |
What stops working immediately
- Deal and company syncing, scheduled and manual
- Competitor annotation writing back to HubSpot
- Battle card links and deal timeline notes
- Connected-call write-back to
steve_connected_callsand the deal timeline - Playbook CRM field extraction into HubSpot deals, companies, and call logs
- New deal suggestions
The HubSpot pages in Steve revert to the HubSpot Not Connected state.
Step 2: Uninstall the app in HubSpot
Deleting in Steve removes Steve's ability to use the tokens. To revoke the authorization from HubSpot's side as well:
- In HubSpot, go to Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps.
- Find the Steve app.
- Choose Uninstall.
This is optional but recommended if you're offboarding for good.
Requesting permanent data deletion
To have all HubSpot-derived data permanently erased from Steve's systems, including backups, email tech@hiresteve.ai from an organization manager's address with the subject "HubSpot data deletion request". Include your Steve organization name and your HubSpot portal ID.
Requests are processed within 30 days and confirmed by email.
Reconnecting later
You can reconnect at any time. A reconnection is treated as a fresh integration:
- The auto-created properties are checked and recreated if missing.
- A full sync runs, because Steve has no previous sync timestamp for your organization.
- Field mappings and property selection start empty — reconfigure on the Field Mapping page.
- Deal suggestions are generated again for deals as they are re-inserted.
