Overview
You can remove Steve for Zoom Team Chat at any time. Removing it revokes Steve's access to your Zoom account but leaves your Steve account intact.
Who it's for: 📣 PMM / admin — removing an integration is an organization-level action.
Step 1: Remove the app from your Zoom account
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Click Manage in the top-right corner.
- In the left sidebar, select Added Apps, or search for the app by name.
- Find Steve for Zoom Team Chat in the list.
- Click Remove, then confirm by clicking Remove again.
Step 2: Disconnect in Steve
- In Steve, go to Settings → Zoom.
- On the Zoom Team Chat card, click Disconnect.
- The card returns to Not connected to Zoom.
If you removed the app on the Zoom side only, we recommend also clicking Disconnect in Steve → Settings → Zoom so the stored credentials are deleted right away.
What happens when you remove the app
Removing the app revokes Steve's access to your Zoom account. As a result:
- The bot stops responding. Slash commands (
/battle-cards,/latest-news,/canvas,/vs-competitor,/prep,/help) and plain-language questions no longer work in Zoom. - Scheduled news summaries stop being posted to your Zoom channels.
- Intelligence monitoring stops. Steve no longer reads messages in any channel, and no new insight-approval cards are posted.
- The Steve bot remains listed in channels it was added to until Zoom finishes removing it, and will not respond in the meantime.
- Your Steve account is unaffected. Projects, battle cards, news, and previously saved insights remain available in the Steve web app, and you can keep using Steve without Zoom.
How your data is handled after removal
- Deleted when you disconnect in Steve: your stored Zoom OAuth access and refresh tokens, the linked Zoom account ID and email address, and your saved Zoom channel selections (notification channel and intelligence channels). After this step Steve holds no credentials for your Zoom account and cannot call the Zoom API on your behalf.
- Retained in Steve until you delete it: content already saved into your Steve projects — for example insights you or your team approved from Zoom messages, and the link context scraped alongside them. This is your own project data; you can delete individual resources in the Steve app at any time.
- Full deletion on request: to have all Zoom-derived data permanently erased from Steve, email tech@hiresteve.ai from an organization manager's address with the subject "Zoom data deletion request". Requests are processed within 30 days, and we confirm by email once complete.
