Zoom Account Requirements
The Zoom plan, licenses, and account settings that must be in place before Zoom Revenue Accelerator calls can import into Steve
Overview
This is the page that unblocks most setups. Zoom Revenue Accelerator is not part of a plain Zoom plan — it is a paid, per-seat add-on, and a Zoom account without it will authorize the connection successfully and then import nothing.
Who it's for: 📣 PMM / admin — everything here is configured on the Zoom side, usually by a Zoom account admin.
What you need on the Zoom side
| Requirement | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| A paid Zoom base plan — Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Zoom Phone standalone | ZRA is an add-on on top of a paid plan. Basic (free) and unlicensed users cannot use it. |
| A Zoom Revenue Accelerator license, per seat | Every rep whose calls you want in Steve needs their own ZRA license. Once assigned, that license covers both Zoom Meetings and Zoom Phone for that user. |
| Cloud Recording enabled at the account level | ZRA only analyzes conversations that were recorded. No recording, no conversation. |
| Audio Transcription enabled | Without it, ZRA returns participants but no transcript. Steve will still import the call — with an empty transcript and no brief. |
| Calendar integration connected for your users | Lets ZRA associate meetings with the right context and participants. |
| Recording consent from external participants | Zoom will not record — and therefore ZRA will not analyze — a meeting where recording didn't happen. |
| Permission to authorize a Zoom app | Connecting Steve is an OAuth authorization on your Zoom account. If your admin has restricted the Marketplace, ask them to approve Steve first. |
Ordinary Zoom credentials are not enough. Zoom's Revenue Accelerator endpoints reject accounts without an active ZRA subscription. This is the single most common reason a connection succeeds but no calls appear.
What you need on the Steve side
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| A Steve account | Sign up and sign in at app.hiresteve.ai — the Steve app, where all of the setup below happens. Call recording integrations are configured per organization. |
| Organization manager / admin role | Only an org manager can connect, configure, or disconnect an integration. |
| A plan that includes Call Recording | The Zoom RA tab is disabled without it, and Steve shows an upgrade prompt in its place. Talk to your admin or to us if you're not sure. |
| At least one project | Competitive insights extracted from calls are saved against a project. |
Whose calls are imported
Steve imports the conversations that the Zoom account you connect with can access in Revenue Accelerator. We recommend connecting with a Zoom account admin.
Pre-flight checklist
Work through this before connecting:
- Paid Zoom plan (Pro / Business / Enterprise / Zoom Phone standalone)
- Zoom Revenue Accelerator licenses assigned to every rep you care about
- Cloud Recording turned on at the account level
- Audio Transcription turned on
- Calendar integration connected for those users
- Your team is recording their customer calls, with consent
- You can authorize apps on the Zoom account (or your admin will do it)
- You're a Steve organization manager, on a plan with Call Recording
- At least one Steve project exists
Next Steps
- Adding the App — once the checklist is clear.
