Overview

Quick answers to the questions we get most often about the Zoom Revenue Accelerator integration. If yours isn't here, try Troubleshooting or contact us.

Adding the app

Where do I install it from — Steve or the Zoom App Marketplace? From Steve. Go to Settings → Call Recording → Zoom RA and click Connect. The authorization has to carry your Steve organization with it, so clicking Add on the Marketplace listing instead returns "Invalid OAuth state." See Adding the App.

How long does setup take? About a minute, plus the first import. Connecting queues a backfill of the last three months immediately.

Do I have to enter any keys or credentials? No. It's a standard OAuth authorization — sign in to Zoom, review the permissions, click Allow.

Licensing and access

Is Zoom Revenue Accelerator included in my Zoom plan? No. It's a paid, per-seat add-on on top of a paid Zoom plan (Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Zoom Phone standalone). Basic and unlicensed users can't use it.

Does every rep need their own ZRA license? Yes, for their calls to be analyzed and therefore importable. One license covers both Zoom Meetings and Zoom Phone for that user.

Can I connect without a ZRA subscription just to try it? The authorization will succeed, but nothing will import — Zoom's Revenue Accelerator endpoints return nothing for accounts without an active subscription. This is the most common "connected but empty" case.

Do I need to be a Zoom admin to connect it? Not strictly, but we recommend it. Steve imports the conversations the connected Zoom account can access in Revenue Accelerator.

Do I need to be a Steve admin? Yes. Only a Steve organization manager can connect, configure, or disconnect an integration.

Is this the same as the Zoom Team Chat bot? No. They're separate Zoom apps with separate permissions. Zoom Revenue Accelerator imports call recordings; the Team Chat bot reads and posts chat messages. Connecting one doesn't connect the other. See Steve in Zoom Team Chat.

What gets imported

Which calls does Steve import? Recorded Zoom Meetings and Zoom Phone calls that Revenue Accelerator has processed. As of 2026 that also includes Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and in-person meetings recorded through Zoom's external recorder, since ZRA ingests those too.

How far back does the first import go? Three months. After that, Steve only looks back one day on each run.

Will old calls be back-filled if I reconnect later? No. Once your organization has Zoom RA calls on record, later runs use the short window. Calls from a period when the integration was disconnected won't arrive.

Can the same call be imported twice? No. Conversations are matched on their Zoom conversation ID, so reruns never create duplicates.

Why is a call titled "Untitled Call"? The Zoom conversation had no topic set. Setting meeting topics in Zoom fixes it for future calls.

Do I have to trigger a sync? No. It runs in the background. Connecting queues the first import immediately.

Transcripts and summaries

How do I get at a transcript? Transcripts aren't shown as a document you scroll through. You work with them two ways from Sales Calls: the search box searches transcript text across every imported call, and Chat with this call lets you ask questions about a single conversation. The transcript is also what the brief, key points, and competitor detection are generated from.

Why is the transcript in speaker order rather than time order? It shouldn't be. Zoom returns transcripts grouped per participant, and Steve flattens and re-sorts them chronologically. If a transcript looks out of order, tell us.

Why is a transcript empty? Audio Transcription is off on the Zoom account, or the call was very short or still being processed by ZRA when Steve imported it. See Troubleshooting.

Why does one call have no brief? The summary step failed for that call. Steve imports the call anyway — the transcript is still searchable and still feeds competitor detection.

What language are the brief and key points in? Your organization's language.

Privacy and permissions

What can Steve do in my Zoom account? Read only: list the conversations Revenue Accelerator has processed, read their participants, read their transcripts, and read your basic profile. Steve cannot start, stop, edit, or delete recordings, cannot create, change, or join meetings, and never posts or writes anything into Zoom.

Which Zoom APIs does Steve actually call? Three: GET /v2/zra/conversations, GET /v2/zra/conversations/{conversationId}/interactions, and GET /v2/users/me. Nothing else.

What does Steve store? Your Zoom OAuth tokens and linked account identifiers, plus the imported call records and their transcripts. Tokens are deleted when you disconnect; call data is retained until you delete it or request deletion. The full table is on Adding the App.

Does Steve read my Zoom chat messages? Not through this integration. That's the separate Zoom Team Chat app.

Who in my organization can see imported calls? They're scoped to the Steve organization that imported them, and readable only inside it.

Insights

How do competitor insights get created? Automatically. After a call imports, its transcript is scanned for mentions of the competitors your project tracks, and each mention becomes an insight pending review.

Where do I review them? Projects → Triage Insights → Zoom Revenue Accelerator. Approved insights move to Projects → Resources → Zoom RA.

Why aren't any insights being created? Usually an empty transcript, or the competitor isn't tracked on the project.

Removing the app

How do I remove it completely? Two steps: click Delete Account in Settings → Call Recording → Zoom RA and confirm, then remove Steve Call Insights at Zoom App Marketplace → Manage → Added Apps. See Removing the App.

Is disconnecting in Steve enough on its own? It stops all access and deletes the stored credentials, but the app stays listed in your Zoom account until you remove it there too. Do both for a clean removal.

Will disconnecting delete my imported calls? No. Disconnecting deletes Steve's stored Zoom credentials and stops future imports. Calls, transcripts, briefs, and approved insights stay in Steve.

What exactly gets deleted when I disconnect? Your Zoom access and refresh tokens, and the linked Zoom account ID, user ID, and email address. After that Steve cannot call Zoom on your behalf.

How do I request full deletion of all Zoom-derived data? Email tech@hiresteve.ai from an organization manager's address with the subject "Zoom data deletion request". Requests are processed within 30 days.
